BNP Paribas WM Revamps Asia-Pacific Investment Service Teams

, has made a number of changes to its investment service teams in Asia-Pacific.

On the investment advisory side, effective immediately, it is melding its client-facing investment advisory roles into a single “advisory spectrum,” led by Rajesh Hathiramani, who already heads its MyAdvisory and Portfolio Advisory Services businesses. He will also take on the post of head of active advisory for Asia, succeeding Sharon Loh, according to a memo seen by WealthBriefingAsia.

“This new structure will enable us to deliver consistent, high-quality investment advice to our clients in the format best designed for them,” Shafali Sachdev, head of investment services APAC, said.

In his expanded role, Hathiramani will work with the bank’s product teams. Hathiramani co-designed and launched the MyAdvisory and portfolio advisory service models. Before joining BNP Paribas WM, Hathiramani served senior leadership roles at UBS in Singapore and Hong Kong, including head of active portfolio advisory, Asia. He will be based in Singapore, reporting to Sachdev.

Turning to the Greater China market, BNP Paribas said it has appointed Xinran Li as head of active advisory, Hong Kong, reporting to Hathiramani. Li, managing director and senior investment counsellor, has been at the firm since 2015. 

The bank is reorganising its discretionary portfolio management team. Jack Lee, who has led the Hong Kong team, will become the head of discretionary portfolio management for Asia. Lee will continue to report to Sachdev.
